UC Davis has renewed its contract for ChatGPT Edu, bringing new terms, expanded capabilities and a significantly reduced price to the university community. The annual cost is lowered by 40% to $144 per year, down from the previous rate of $240 per year under the university’s new agreement with OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT.

Update Your Duo Mobile App by 4/15

Update April 8, 2025:A grace period has been added to the following Duo update. Duo requires users to update their apps to versions 4.85.0 or newer by April 15, 2026.  The original deadline was March 31, 2025. 

After this date, unless you use the newer app version, you will be unable to verify your identity with Duo Push, and in some cases, biometrics such as Touch ID/Face ID.

Annual eduroam Update, Fri. 2/13: You May Receive a Prompt

UC Davis will soon make an annual update to the eduroam Wi-Fi network. Depending on your device, you may need to accept a prompt to continue using eduroam to access the internet. 

On Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Information and Educational Technology (IET) will install a new electronic security certificate for eduroam. These certificates expire periodically, and updates are scheduled yearly.
