In fall 2024, UC Davis will increase cybersecurity to better protect you and your university information from scammers, hackers, and other bad actors. Risk-Based Authentication will be added to Duo for UC Davis students and staff. Duo is the multi-factor authentication app at UC Davis that provides an additional layer of protection when Aggies access email, online storage, and other technology and university services.

Information and Educational Technology (IET) is excited to unveil the 2023-2024 Technology Impact Report. With an interactive landing page and a companion accessible pdf, the report highlights how technology can serve as an accelerator for UC Davis’s strategic vision and goals, focusing on six key focus areas.

The 2024 UC Tech Annual Conference, happening October 27-29 at UC Davis and UC Davis Health has unveiled its keynote speakers for the now sold out event! Both are incredible thought leaders and educators from the University of California, Davis.

The lineup for the 2024 Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT) is now live and features exciting presentations and discussions around new technology, inclusive teaching and learning practices, and artificial intelligence (AI) use in the classroom. 

With summer about halfway over, IET has a fun challenge for students, faculty, and staff. Relax more and stress less by taking a tech break!

Now, we don’t suggest taking a digital break from tech during working hours if your job utilizes technology. Instead, intentionally choose some hours or days during your free time and go offline. If you’re thinking this is a terrible idea, please keep reading! In response to increasing information security threats in higher education, UC Davis Information and Educational Technology (IET) is expanding the use of two-step login (a.k.a. multi-factor authentication) on campus.  

This summer, whether you already have a trip meticulously planned or are just starting your research, you might want to consider letting generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI) do some of the legwork. With the help of genAI tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini, you can plan a trip tailor-made to your interests and needs in a matter of seconds.
