Update: As of approximately 6:30 p.m. PST on Thursday, January 22, Microsoft reports that users continue to experience degraded service functionality or be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services. Some of the impacted service functions include, but may not be limited to:

Resolved: The eduroam issues reported earlier this week have been resolved. We will continue to monitor the Wi-Fi networks and address issues as they arise. Please contact IT Express to report and troubleshoot any Wi-Fi issues.

Google Workspace Upload Issue Resolved – Weds., 12/31

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, between 12:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., members of the UC Davis community were temporarily unable to upload new files to Google Workspace. The disruption was caused by a vendor issue during a contract transition, in which Google Workspace did not properly reflect the university’s updated agreement with Google.

Information and Educational Technology (IET) identified and escalated the issue to Google Support, and the matter was addressed promptly

eduroam Wireless Update Scheduled for Sat., 12/20

While campus is getting ready for the winter holidays, Information and Educational Technology (IET) will update the eduroam wireless network to offer faster and more reliable connectivity to an increasing number of electronic devices.

What is Happening? 

On December 20, 2025, IET will perform an update to the eduroam network. There will be a brief downtime for 1-2 hours between midnight and 6:00 a.m. while the network is updated. Other campus networks will not be impacted.

UC Davis Canvas Login Changes Coming 12/1

Starting Monday, December 1, 2025, logging in to UC Davis Canvas will look a bit different for students, faculty and staff. Instructure, the vendor providing our Canvas learning management system, is making updates to the login experience.

Access to UC Davis Canvas will not be impacted, and your login process, username, and password will not change.

Changes for New Email Lists Coming Thurs., 10/30

UC Davis has updated its policy governing mailing lists to better align with other University of California and UC Davis policies on uses of proprietary electronic communications. The updates to PPM 310-18, Email Lists and Mass Electronic Messaging cover topics including who may serve as the administrator or owner of a campus mailing list and the university’s approach to closing mailing lists that are out of compliance with policy.
