Videoconferencing & Internet Connectivity Updates

Information and Educational Technology (IET) applied several fixes that are expected to improve internet connectivity and related services, including videoconferencing platforms. We continue to monitor performance and appreciate your ongoing feedback. Please report any connectivity and/or audio/video issues, including your location and the date/time of the occurrence, to IT Express or your departmental IT support.

Over the past several weeks, many members of the campus community have reported issues related to videoconferencing and internet connectivity. You may have experienced:  

  • Intermittent connectivity while using the eduroam network  
  • Sudden audio interruptions when using campus videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom  

We understand how disruptive these issues can be and want to assure you that we are addressing them with urgency. We have applied several fixes in coordination with our vendor partners, and we are monitoring these services to ensure consistent reliability and performance.

Please continue reporting issues to IT Express or your departmental IT, including your location and the date/ time when the issue occurred.

Information and Educational Technology (IET) continues to investigate reports of intermittent audio issues when using campus video conferencing systems, such as Zoom. Members of the campus community may experience short interruptions in audio during video conferencing sessions, especially when relying on a wired connection on campus.

We are actively engaged with our vendors to address these issues. We have applied some temporary fixes, and a more permanent solution is imminent.
