New Pilot: SiteFarm AI Features Enhance Accessibility, Consistency and Efficiency
Brand consistency, support for accessibility*, and efficiency – that’s what UC Davis web content creators and managers can expect from a new pilot of artificial intelligence features now available to SiteFarm, the web content management system for campus websites.
Here’s a look at what’s available as of January 26, 2026:
New SiteFarm Features
- Generate new content and modify existing content using AI: Give it a prompt, and it will generate or modify your web content. The UC Davis editorial guidelines on voice and tone are embedded in this feature, so content editors can be confident in meeting branding standards.
- Title, summary, taxonomy, and readability options. Additional AI-enabled features include providing suggestions for title, summary, and categories. You can also evaluate readability, which rates your content using a standardized readability test and provides suggestions on how to improve readability.
- Automated alt tag generator (for images): Generates alternative text descriptions for images. This constitutes a significant step forward for accessibility as current text descriptions are entered manually and often lack sufficient details for screen readers.
How to Access
AI features are automatically available to SiteFarm content editors. While features are included in the SiteFarm interface, you don’t have to use them if you don’t want to. Visit the SiteFarm AI Features webpage for a more in-depth look at where the features are located and how to use them.
To obtain a SiteFarm account, check with your supervisor and follow the sign up steps on the UC Davis SiteFarm site.
