UC Davis Cyber-Safety Program: Training for Users, Administrators, and Managers
If you are a computer user within an academic or administrative department on campus, you may have a Technology Support Coordinator (TSC) who is working to secure your system. Before taking any of the security steps listed below, please check with your TSC.
From the UC Davis Cyber-Safety Program Policy:
"A technical training program must be documented and established for all systems staff responsible for security administration. In addition, campus unit administrators and users handling restricted university electronic communication records must receive annual information security awareness program training regarding university policy and proper information handling and controls."
Information...
Why is training important?
Staff members who administer technology systems are responsible for
implementing the security standards detailed in this document. These
administrators must have the security training necessary to properly
secure their systems in accordance with policy. Additionally, users
must have security awareness training to combat the prevalence of phishing
schemes, social engineering, and other security risks in the workplace.
Does UC Davis offer Cyber-safety Program training?
The campus is looking into training courses. Additional information
