Identity Management Recommended Architecture & Migration Strategy In May, a workgroup was formed and charged with guiding the Burton Group in preparing an identity management architecture and migration strategy for UC Davis. The Burton Group is a research and advisory consulting service. An integrated identity management infrastructure provides critical support to business processes, policies, and technologies that enable organizations to facilitate and control access to critical online applications and electronic resources while protecting restricted personal and business information from unauthorized access. The resulting identity management system will support user registration functions, account provisioning/deactivation, authentication, authorization by individual and groups, and campus needs for federated authentication.
