UC Davis Cyber-Safety Program: Firewall Services
If you are a computer user within an academic or administrative department on campus, you may have a Technology Support Coordinator (TSC) who is working to secure your system. Before taking any of the security steps listed below, please check with your TSC.
From the UC Davis Cyber-Safety Program Policy:
"Campus units must deploy and maintain both a network (VLaN) firewall and host-based firewall service for network connected computers. The firewalls must be restrictively configured to deny all traffic unless expressly permitted."

Firewall Subsidization
Information and Educational Technology is taking applications for the Firewall Subsidy program. This program reimburses campus units for acquisition and first-year support costs of new VLAN firewalls. To apply, work with your unit contact (see table below) to submit an application to the campus IT Security Coordinator by May 30, 2007.
